Choosing Alternate Jerseys In Season Mode
Although it's never really an option given while your team is in season mode to choose an alternate costume, I've found that it's possible to do so. For example, if I were to choose the Lakers, during the controller choosing screen (where you can set which controllers to play on either the away or home side), set your cursor on the Lakers (assuming that you're using them). Hit R2 twice to get their retro jerseys (it works in both home and away games). Hit L2 twice to get their home white jerseys. This should work for all teams, assuming that you've unlocked the team's retro jerseys.

Alley-oop:
When your teammate is in position, press Square + X to alley-oop the ball to him.
Easy baskets:
Find a team with a small forward with good mid-range (for example, the Clippers, Sixers, Kings). Stand at the top of the 3 point line and call the pick and roll. When the pick comes, go left and the drive. If it works, your man will be out from the pick and the small forwards man will step up to you, leaving the small forward open for an easy two, or if they have good, threes you can step outside.
Classic players:
To get classic players such as Magic Johnson, go to "Manage Roster" and trade a player with an All-star team. They can be used for franchise mode.
Easy three points from the corner of the court:
Play a quick game. When it starts, pause game play and go into the options menu. Go to "NBA Rules" and turn "Out Of Bounds" off. After you do this. Resume the game and run all the way to either corner of the court behind your goal out of bounds. When you get there, shoot the ball. The player will shoot the ball up into the air over the backboard and should make it. Any player on your team can make this shot.
Oooga-Booga ball:
Select the Oooga-Booga ball in the unlockables area.The Ooga-Booga ball is an all white ball. Play a normal game. When you shoot the ball and you make it or it bounces off the rim, pause game play and do a replay. Rewind it back to where the ball is in front of the backboard, and turn the view to look at the ball through the back of the backboard. The ball will be a tiki mask. The view has to be behind the backboard, and the ball must be in front of the backboard.
